How to Install Your Floating Shelf
Follow this simple step-by-step guide to securely install your MKGT solid wood floating shelf with concealed metal brackets.
What You'll Need
- Drill
- Spirit level
- Pencil
- Tape measure
- Suitable wall fixings
Step-by-Step Installation
1 Choose the Shelf Position
Decide where you would like your floating shelf to be installed. Use a tape measure and spirit level to determine the correct height and position.
2 Mark the Fixing Points
Mark the positions of the concealed brackets on the wall using a pencil. Check with a spirit level to make sure both fixing points are perfectly aligned.
3 Drill the Fixing Holes
Drill the marked positions using a drill bit suitable for your wall type. Make sure the holes are straight and deep enough for the supplied wall plugs.
4 Insert the Wall Plugs
Insert the wall plugs fully into the drilled holes. The plugs should sit securely and flush with the wall surface.
5 Install the Concealed Brackets
Screw the concealed metal brackets securely into the prepared fixing points. Make sure both brackets are straight, firmly fixed and correctly aligned.
6 Slide the Shelf onto the Brackets
Align the pre-drilled holes in the back of the shelf with the concealed brackets. Carefully slide the shelf onto the brackets until it sits firmly against the wall.
7 Check the Installation
Check that the shelf sits level and flush against the wall. Make sure the brackets and wall fixings are secure before placing any items on the shelf.

Take extra care when marking and drilling the bracket positions. Accurate alignment will help the shelf sit level, close to the wall and give the clean concealed-bracket appearance.

Always install into a structurally sound wall using fixings suitable for your wall type. Check for hidden electrical cables and pipes before drilling. For plasterboard walls, suitable cavity fixings must be used. Maximum load depends on wall type, fixing method and correct installation.
